One Thimble - Winter Wear Designs - Amuse Boho Top

As soon as I saw Issue 14 of One Thimble I knew that I had to smock this pattern.   The gathering under the centre front piece was just crying out for me to smock it - just adding a little texture rather than making it a feature.

You can find the instructions for a how-to hack on the One Thimble Blog here

But here are some photos as well.

If you are an experience smocker, you could well make it without cutting the front section out or you could also make the entire front section one piece and smock that to suit as well, quite a few variations are possible including smocking the back instead of gathering.

I made the size XL and I made no changes.  Round necks don't suit me that well, hence the v shaped fold back on the neckline.   Do if you make the faced version tack it down at the shoulders etc, as it did want to flap in the rayon, a heavier fabric probably won't though.

I hope you enjoy the hack and I'd love to see your finished projects.
